In the weeks leading up to training camp the thing that stressed me out the most was PACKING.

I am an over-packer by nature and a procrastinator, so against my Mom’s constant begs, I just accumulated a bunch and didn’t attempt to put it all together until THREE days before I left. I have known about this launch date for 7 months…

The first attempt to get all my hopes and dreams into the pack was unsuccessful and led to a middle of the night panic attack. I woke up the next morning and Mom laid hands on my pack and we prayed and cried. Then with faith and eliminating a bunch, we were able to get it all inside!! Then I unpacked and wrote it all out so that I could hopefully help some poor future racer if they are anything like me and desperately looking for answers, inspiration, and tips for this major part of the journey!

For those with unbelief in your hearts, it is possible and it gets easier to pack each time!

I will be updating at the end of every chapter of this journey to share what I have left behind and what I regret bringing and what I regret not bringing! Hindsight is 20/20.

  2. so glad to see you packed Ranger Ready Bug Spray – CLEARLY you don’t want to go
bee-bopping around the globe and not be Ranger Ready. Godspeed Aim – is a fine and wonderful thing you do!

  3. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing. We all can learn from exercises like this.

So good to hear from you. Susan and I are so excited for you. We look forward to your progress so remember to share as you go!

  4. Awesome job Amy! Packing is the hardest part, but you handled it like a champ! Moms are always good help! ? So excited for your journey! And yes, keep that Ranger Ready on to ward of those nasty skeeters! God bless you each and every day ?? ??

  5. As I was reading this I was smiling. I love your brain Amy girl. I’m excited to watch the progression and gleefully watch as God grows your dependence on Him and that pack probably gets even lighter!

Isn’t it crazy to think that the first disciples were told not to bring a thing? I’ve always wanted to test that out but haven’t gotten brave enough. I’ll ask you in 11 months what you think about that haha.

Love you! What a fun blog series to follow!

  6. I need you to be my packer. I am an over-packer by nature as well. Praying for all your great adventures ahead. May you stay safe and touch many souls. And I can’t wait to see the changes you would have made in packing – I am very impressed with you list and packing abilities.

  7. Love this! So helpful for future Racers, I am sure…BONUS: will be so cool to be able to look back and see what you wish you had brought and what you realized that you didn’t need by the end! Love your organizational brain!

  8. I have read this list twice, unable to comprehend how you got it all in your backpack and daypack- now o understand more fully why we were praying about that! God is ALWAYS faithful! Great to hear from you????

  9. I’m laying in bed tonight tossing and turning complaining that I can’t get comfortable. Then the Lord so lovingly reminds me how blessed I truly am and to get over myself. Then I begin thinking about where you are, the conditions you may be facing and embracing and I’m suddenly humbled in such a major way. I am so thankful for your willingness to be obedient to God’s calling on your life. It is beyond encouraging to all of us to be able to watch you along this journey. God has truly prepared your heart for this time of your life. I think about you and am praying for you consistently. I know we all are. Thank you for truly being His hands and feet in a way that I could not be. I know this will forever transform your life. I pray that in every aspect of this journey, you are able to feel God’s presence surrounding you in such a mighty way no matter what circumstances you are facing. We love you and cannot wait for more updates!!!
