So, how did I end up here? Well, let me tell you the short story!

I heard about the World Race several years ago on Stephanie May Wilson’s podcast (shout out to all the Girl’s Night listeners out there). I looked it up, thought it was cool, and then closed my browser.

Fast forward to last year… my neighbors got back from a trip and told me about this World Race information session they had just attended. Now you should know, I live in a very small town in rural South Carolina, so what are the odds that the people who I live behind had found this same organization I had looked up years ago?? They let me borrow a book that the founder of the organization had written, and just like most, it went on my bookshelf to sit for a while.

When 2022 started, with a local move in my near future, I figured I needed to start reading the books I had borrowed from others so I would have less things to pack. So, I started reading Kingdom Journeys, and the book gripped me from the first chapter. Seth’s purpose for these trips is to allow people to abandon their old selves and be broken by God, to then surrender and depend solely on Him. That is EXACTLY what my soul has been yearning for, I just haven’t been able to put it in such eloquent words. I thought I’d just set up a call to see what this trip was about and maybe start planning it for next year or maybe 2024… ha!

Jeremy was the lucky guy who got to hear my life in a nutshell, which I cried the whole time (y’all will get used to that) and at the end he just said, “Amy, LETS GOOOOO!” I corrected him and said this would be in August of 2023, and he asked me why I would wait any longer to see the world and be the hands and feet of Jesus. So, I took the next steps in faith, and I am thrilled to say WE ARE GOOOOOOOOOING!!!

The Amy that you all know, and love would not quit her steady job in the middle of economic unrest and would never travel the world with potential wars on the horizon – and that is how I know this is a God thing! This decision has come with peace that has passed all understanding and I am trusting that He will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus throughout this journey.

On August 27th I will leave everything I have known, the routines I have relied on, the people that I love, and the simple pleasures of my comfort zone to embark on a Kingdom Journey of my own.
