Our ministry here is Ayvacik, Turkey has been painting. But not just any painting, it’s painting a CHURCH building!

My team was excited to get to be a part of a physical labor ministry for our time in Turkey! There is something to be said about starting a project along side of someone and seeing progress and completion! I really enjoyed also learning the skill of painting: sanding and priming; ceilings first, then walls and don’t forget the detail/trim work!

Our host had a friend coming into town early on in our stay, so our first major milestone was completing the fourth floor meeting room. Then on March 21st, 2023 we got to be a part of the first church gathering in the newly finished Pistachio colored room! It was said that this was probably the largest Christian gathering ever to have happened in Ayvacik, Turkey!

The church service included my team of ladies, our guys team (affectionately called Daddy Day Care), our Turkish brothers Taha & Berke, our host and his wife, and some friends/ministry partners of theirs. We got to worship and hear a small teaching on David’s heart, and we had communion together.

By our last week in Turkey, we finished painting the building! Within 4 weeks working 3 days a week my team was able to paint ceilings, walls, and trim of 16 rooms + 4 hallways. Our last room to complete was the children’s room which we got to do in fun shapes and all 3 colors we had been using. It was a fun, creative project to end on!

We prayed, we worshiped, and we communed with each other while we painted. We pray that God busts down the doors with people eager to know Him. That those walls reverberate the goodness that is Jesus and all that He has done for us as His friends!
